Nelson & Area Friends of the Family Foundation (the “Foundation”) is committed to protecting your privacy. Any personal information you provide to us as a donor or applicant is collected, used, and disclosed in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and other applicable legislation.

We will not sell or disclose personal information to third parties.

We won't use it to send you information that you didn't specifically request.

It does not include information another website requests from you. Any additional collections of personal information by another website will be addressed in a collection notice on that website.

The Foundation will only collect clients and patrons information which is necessary to fulfill the following purposes:

  • To deliver requested services;
  • To guarantee necessity of medical travel;
  • To provide informational services;
  • To send out association membership information;
  • To contact our clients and patrons for fundraising;
  • To ensure a high standard of service to our clients and patrons;
  • To meet regulatory requirements;

Personal information will only be used by authorized staff to fulfill the purpose for which it was originally collected or for a use consistent with that purpose, unless you expressly consent otherwise.

What safeguards are in place to protect my personal information?

The Nelson & Area Friends of the Family Foundation is obligated to protect your personal information by making reasonable security arrangements against such risks as unauthorized access, collection, use, disclosure or disposal. Specifically, access to systems, applications and the collected data is restricted to authorized personnel only.

Service Providers

We may employ third-party companies (e.g., email and registration providers) and individuals to facilitate our Service (“Service Providers”), to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

When using these services your Personal Data may be transferred to another jurisdiction (outside of Canada) for processing.

These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

How long is information retained?

These cookies will expire no later than 18 months from when they are first placed on your computer. Information collected as a part of a cookie or a security audit log is retained for 2 years.
